BARABBAS - Male, 20s-30s. A passionate, impulsive harvester who struggles with his identity after his father's death. Transforms from vengeful rebel to a man seeking deeper meaning. Requires strong emotional range, ability to portray both anger and vulnerability.
CHAYA - Female, 20s-30s. Barabbas's pragmatic sister who becomes a servant in a Roman household. Level-headed counterbalance to Barabbas's impulsivity. Requires dignity and quiet strength. Must be able to sing
FATHER - Male, 50s-60s. A wise, patient farmer who speaks in parables. Though deceased early, his philosophy haunts the play. Requires gravitas and warmth. Must be able to sing.
BENJAMIN - Male, 20s-30s. Barabbas's devout friend who represents faith and moral conscience. Steadfast and principled. Requires sincerity and conviction.
NATHAN - Male, 20s-30s. Barabbas's impulsive friend who represents the "prodigal son" archetype. Flees to the city, loses everything, returns humbled. Requires comedic timing and emotional transformation. Must be able to Sing
PANTHER - Male, 30s-40s. A charismatic Murage revolutionary leader. Tactical, persuasive, dangerous. Tries to recruit Barabbas after his release.
SARIAH - Female, 20s-30s. A fierce Murage revolutionary who betrays Barabbas. Quick-tempered and ruthless. Requires intensity and cunning. Must be able to sing.
PILATE - Male, 40s-50s. The Roman governor who sentences both Barabbas and Jesus. Brief but crucial role requiring authoritative presence.
